When I first saw the email from Mikenna I though, ā€œhow cool!ā€ Then I read the ingredients and got suspicious. Was this a pranks? Turns out no because right below the recipe were pictures of the class working on the very sandwich. Rotisserie chicken with fajita seasoning, avocado, lime, and Everything But the Bagel seasoning? But it worked well. Plussed it up with a little cilantro which also worked. Woot!

Plus up: Remove the lettuce and Grilled Cheese Treatmentā„¢ using smoked butter

This is one of those rare instances where the sandwich name kind of undersells it. Because it didn’t just have cheese, it had mayonnaise with pimentos mixed in. In other words, a bare bones pimento cheese sandwich. Naturally the plus up was going to involve the Grilled Cheese Treatmentā„¢ but had to get the lettuce out and plussed up the plus up by using smoked butter. So tasty.

Plus up: Salt, pepper, and fresh dill

It is odd to come across a sandwich that is both rich and dull. Well, this one fit the bill. Plussed it up with some salt, pepper, and fresh dill which really perked things up.

Good lord, equal parts butter and ham?! I’m no health expert but that seems off. Still, it was tasty but lacked any real texture or seasoning. So, I plussed it up some Calbee Salt and Seaweeed potato chips which did both jobs at once!

As you know, I think the combo of peanut butter and cheese works. Well, in this instance they upgraded the cheese to pimento cheese and added in chopped parsley. The parsley was odd but not off-putting. Decided to plus it up with a hot sauce that has a nice sweetness to it.

Holy 1970s health food, Batman! Yes, The Great Sandwich Book of 1978 decided it would great for us to make our own peanut soy butter. The recipe did say to use soybeans that had been cooked and drained so I opted for edamame. All in all it was a bit bland so I plussed it up with Bachan’s Barbecue Sauce which brought some sweetness, ginger, and other flavors to the party.

Hard to imagine this going wrong. Soft, sweet Japanese milk bread with layers of cucumber, ham, and a fried egg. Did I mention the Kewpie mayo on each layer? So delicious. Plussed it up with something that brought both texture and spiciness.

In The Chips withBarry!

Ruffles Brazil Outback Steakhouse Ribs on the Barbie potato chips

This week I tried potato chips from one country that featured the flavor of another. In this case, the chip were from Brazil and the flavor was from…well, America, really. After all, Outback Steakhouse is an American chain restaurant with an Australian theme. At any rate, these Ribs on the Barbie flavored chips were smokey and tasty!

President’s Choice Filipino Adobo Chicken potato chips

These were taaaasty! Even if I didn’t really get chicken from it. The adobo flavor was fantastic. Oh and it may have had Filipino Adobo Chicken flavor but the chips? The chips are from Canada.

Karamucho Yangnyeom Chicken potato chips

And wrapping up the potato chips from country with a flavor from another we have Calbee of Japan with their Yangnyeom Korean Chicken flavored potato chips. Didn’t really get chicken from these either but it was a nice sweet/slightly spicy potato chips

Can It Sandwich?

TL;DR - yes, they can all sandwich. But can all three sandwich at once? For that you’re gonna have to watch.
