Cookbook update

Well, it was a furious two months of recipe testing on top of everything else but I turn in the final manuscript for Vintage Party Sandwiches this coming Friday. Seven chapters with twelve recipe each spanning from the Victorian era though to nineteen sixty. It was a lot of work as this time I wanted to tweak the adaptations a bit more as compared to Sandwiches of History: The Cookbook. I wanted them to able to pair really well with cocktail, tea, or any other party beverage.

Next steps are working with my publisher on the cover design, subtitle, and photography. Super stoked that the same team of food stylist Carrie Purcell and photographer Andrew Purcell, who did such brilliant work on the first book, are back for this one!

Speaking of cover art, I thought I'd share with you the first pass. Keep in mind this was just the beginning of the conversation so nowhere near final. The illustration is really cool but overall it doesn't feel like a Sandwiches of History cookbook. Also not into tying the byline to The Great Gatsby and Mad Men as the book does not have any recipes from either. That and my middle initial is W, not J. Lol. I'll share more as it happens.

Also, I'll have an paying member exclusive video for you tomorrow wherein I make Mountain Dew (...no, not the soda).

Thanks for being a paying member!

Cheers,
Barry
